Slightly browned along the upper 15 cm of the centrefold, otherwise in good condition. * Very detailed and interesting map of North Africa, originally made by Gerard Mercator c. 1595. The upper half consists of an oblong map of the Southern coast of the Mediterranean with focus on the present Morocco, Tunesia, Algeria, Libya and Egypt. The lower half is divided into two separate maps. One shows the remnants of ancient Carthago with a vignette showing a ruined aquaduct, while the other is featuring the Delta of the Nile including a vignette of the Gizeh pyramids near the present city of Cairo.
