Quote from booklet (p. 22): But nothing is so severely persecuted behind the Iron Curtain as is the word of God. From Wikipedia: John H. Noble (1923-2007) was an American survivor of the Soviet Gulag system, who wrote two books relating to his experiences after being permitted to leave the Soviet Union and return to his native United States. Being in Germany at the beginning of World War II, the Nobles remained there and survived the controversial firebombing of Dresden in February 1945. That same year John and his father were arrested and sent to Soviet Special Prison Number 2, formerly named Buchenwald. Though his father was released in 1952, John was transferred to the Soviet Gulag system, to Vorkuta Gulag at the northernmost Urals railhead in Siberia. He was able to smuggle out a message that led to his release in 1955. The National Education Program was founded by George Stuart Benson (1898-1991) whose life work included serving as a missionary to China through the Church of Christ and second president of Harding College. Goals of the NEP were to promote Americanism, patriotism, and free enterprise. The NEP sponsored Freedom Forums and produced material including films. Bookseller Inventory # 014093
