A very nice copy of this book that can come quite shabby in used condition. The book itself is as new, square, tight and clean. The Dust Jacket has only a few minor nicks at edge but no tearing or any noticeable rub. Not price clipped. This is one of the hardest to find Rodrigue art books that are all typified by striking colorful images of the Louisiana bayou country and more recently by his Blue Dog paintings. Rodrigue became most famous for his Blue Dog paintings, and this book has the first painting in the Blue Dog series showing the dog, looking like a sort of little werewolf or loup-garou as they are called by the Cajun people, blue in the moonlight, sitting in front of a spooky red house in a bayou setting. There are 39 other wonderful Rodrigue paintings all reproduced in vivid colors showing scenes of the people and the places of the bayou country. And the stories in the book, by Louisiana writer Chris Segura, are "flowing with gumbo, voodoo, mystery and ghostss" according the the blurb at top of dust jacket front cover which pictures a Rodrigue painting of a young woman in ghostly white dress with red hair standing beside a yellow rolls royce parked under a big bayou oak tree. Classic Rodrigue, who has been called "The Louisiana Rousseau" by Le Figaro the French journal. Size: Quarto, 395pp Incl Glossary of Cajun Terms. Bookseller Inventory # 2828
