In addition to her work with the university, Professor Terrel is a drama coach and a professional actor on camera and in theatre. She is a founding member of Backbone Ensemble Theatre and a member of both the Actor's Equity Association and the Screen Actor's Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.
