Astrolabe Booksellers is the leading antiquarian/second-hand/used bookseller in Australia's island state, with premises located in Hobart's historic Salamanca Place. Proprietor Michael Sprod is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Antiquarian Booksellers - and as such, an affiliate of the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers. We carry a good range of antiquarian and second-hand books on a wide variety of subjects, specialising in works on Tasmania, Australia, Antarctica, Aborigines (especially Tasmanian), and maritime subjects. Our own website is www astrolabebooks com au - this provides a search service for our stock, subject lists and shows recent catalogues - all with SECURE ordering. We welcome - indeed encourage - direct contact from customers. We still issue traditional catalogues (a few each year) which can be mailed free of charge, or viewed from our website (an email advises when a new one is posted). We also continue to take requests for those hard-to-find titles, especially in our main areas of interest.
