Very Good condition 1st Edition/1st Printing hardcover. No dust jacket. An uncommon account of the assassination of President Lincoln and its aftermath by a former member of the U.S House of Representatives (Democrat from New York) and author of a number of books of U.S. history. This 1st printing is square and sound -- the hinges are not cracked. Has the previous owner's bookplate on the front pastedown and his signature and location (Shanghai) on the first free endpage. There is light foxing to some pages but they are clean and undamaged. It's difficult to discern any soiling on the dark maroon covers, but there is probably a little. There is one sort of bleached-out spot near the bottom of the spine. Remarkably, none of the corners are bumped and there is just light to moderate rub wear to top/bottom edges, seams, and tips of corners. A very nice copy of this uncommon piece of Lincolniana. Will be bubble-wrapped and shipped in a sturdy box to ensure safe delivery. Seller Inventory # ABP19
