In original blue cloth boards with bevelled edges, and elaborate gilt & black illustrated title designs to cover and spine. Contents complete with 54 engraved illustrations. A worn and tatty copy with cloth rubbed through and board material showing through at corners; shallow chipping to cloth at tail and less so at crown of spine. Light to moderate soiling to boards with some fading to gilt designs at spine. Binding shaken with several signatures sprung and starting. Mild foxing scattered in text with some occasional finger soiling and spotting. Some light shallow damp staining in the margins of the first and last 10 or so leaves. Endpages splitting in the hinges; frontis tissue guard heavily foxed. Prior ownership gift inscription to blank front endpage. Complete copy with plates in generally clean condition - but overall worn and tatty. A restoration or filler copy. Good only. Seller Inventory # 33283
