Pages age-browned, else internally very good. Many tipped-in color and black-and-white plates. Presentation copy from both Anne Carlu and her husband, architect Jacques Carlu. Laid in: ALs from Jacques Carlu to a former "talented and faithful" student. Among other commissions in the 1930s-40s, Anne Carlu designed the murals in the Palais de Chaillot, Paris. She also painted the murals in the dining room of Eaton's department store, Toronto. Very few women artists worked in this scale at the time. Bookseller Inventory # 02037

I love to seek out the obscure, the uncommon, and the overlooked. Harvey Mendelsohn and I also offer a room full of out-of-print scholarly titles on the fine and applied arts, especially art history, architecture and planning, book arts, gardens, 20th-century ceramics, photography, and exhibition catalogues. And you¿ll also find some children¿s books, cookbooks, titles in cultural history and philosophy, and other general books.
