"This 6.5 x 9.5 inch, 325 page hardcover book is the first edition by the Viking Press in 1937 as shown by that date on the title page and by the notation on the copyright page "First published in September 1937." This copy is in very good condition with definite time-wear fading to the spine of the brown cloth covers. Apparently either sun exposure or handling has darkened the spine color with the books title almost faded, but with the cover image decoration, which slides across the spine, still plainly visible. There is only a touch of edge and corner wear to the covers. The interior text shows a previous owner's inked name on the ffep along with a bookseller's price in the ffep corner. The rest of the text block is in at least very good condition with virtually no handling wear but some age toning to the heavy paper. There is a blotch on a probable water stain to the very bottom of the text block from about page 121 through the end of the pages but this does *not* extend up into the text printing. The illustrations by the author are in at least very good condition and probably better and overall this is a nice copy of this title. 325 pages.". Seller Inventory # 1505-803
