Overall serviceable reference copies of this collectible set. Former owner applied thick tape to spines, which has left prominent residue to spines and edges of boards, visible in photos. Tape also applied to gutter of inside covers (front and rear). Cloth has some chips, particularly to head and foot of spines, and at corners. First signature of first volume is shaken, xii - xiv have detached from binding. Frontis of both volumes have fallen out, but are placed facing title page. First and last several pages of both volumes are foxed. Former private library sticker to rear pastedown endpaper, and stamp to title pages. Overall pages are bright, unmarked and intact.
