Large quartos. Vol.1: (ix) 73pp. [26] + 50 plates (1). Vol.2: (xii) 91pp. [12] + 20 plates. Photo-illustrated white wrappers with blue lettering on the front covers and spines. The volumes contain a comprehensive visual and text-based study on the furniture of Ancient Egypt. Vol.1 covers the period from 4000-1300 BCE, ranging from the pre-dynastic period through the middle of the New Kingdom. Vol.2 concentrates specifically on "Boxes Chests and Footstools". The volumes are each illustrated throughout with b/w detailed full-page figures. Following the main text sections of each volume, is a detailed "Catalog of Museum Collections", followed by a selection of plates, containing b/w photographic reproductions of the furniture. Between the two volumes there is a total of 70 plates, containing 190 photos. Bindings with some minor creasing, bumping and/or rubbing to corners and edges. Light scratches and/or stains to the covers. Bindings in very good-, interiors in near fine condition overall. Seller Inventory # 43281
