Image measures 8 1/2" x 10 7/8" A map showing the empire of Alexander the Great, including the routes of his conquests, carefully engraved and hand colored in tawny brown. Regions are beautifully hand colored, with cities, towns, and topographical features labeled. In very good condition with minor toning. Part of a Cooper Union library stamp to lower margin, outside the plate line. Fielding Lucas Jr. was an artist, publisher and cartographer active in the early 19th century. He published his first atlas in 1815 and became known as the earliest successful commercial map publisher in Baltimore. He was also the first stationer in the United States. His son, William Lucas took over the printing and stationery business shortly after his death. Seller Inventory # 310939

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING:
Books of "average" size might be sent overseas via Global Priority Airmail for $35.00 each volume, but oversized or overweight books must be sent by other methods or carriers, and will almost certainly cost more, depending on the actual weight.
