bluish ribbed cloth with visible gilded title on front but faded from spine ffep is missing half title page precedes title page copyright page copyrighted 1912 by Willa Siebert Cather followed by published April 1912 so if not first printing, it's close thereto; there is s stamp on inside cover Calvert County hospital and there seems the have been an insect problem as the last blank page has about a dozen small holes the last page has one pencil diameter hole and one bb sized hole effecting no text then beginning on page 174 there is the pencil diameter sized holes that continues to reduce in size to the last hole on page 153 which is smaller than the aforementioned bb sized hole ironically no text is effected still a very tight copy of author's first novel graded good plus.
