Contents include The Miser's Daughter & Windsor Castle - A Historical Romance by Ainsworth, The Songs of Italy, The Lady's page, Mozart - His Era - Friends and Contemporaries, A Bundle of German Legends, The Cholera in Ireland etc. etc. Plates heavily foxed, otherwise text relatively clean. Hinges cracked. Overall condition Good. Volume III ( 1843) vi, iv, 568 pp. 14 steel engraved plates (one plate missing). Foxing confined mainly to margins of plates, but occasional spots in text. Hinges partially cracked. Overall condition VG-. Volume IV (1843) 562 pp. 13 steel engraved plates. Contents include: Modern Chivalry or, A New Orlanda Furioso, The Elliston Papers, John Manesty. Splits between edges of spine and boards. Hinges cracked. Overall conditions VG-. Volume VIII (1845) iv, 568 pp. 6 steel engraved plates. Contents include Ehrenstein by G.P.R. James, Glimpses of Germany, with a Glance at France, A Tale of East India Life, Belgium and the Belgians, The Count of Monte Christo by Ainsworth etc. etc. Foxing mainly confined to plate margins. Split between edge of spine and front board. Split of about four inches at bottom edge of spine at back board. Hinges cracked. Overall condition VG-. All eight volumes bound in matching quarter brown leather with brown marbled boards. Ornate spines with maroon double spine labels. Four raised bands on spines seperating gilt ornate decorative panels. Lower spine label (vol number) missing from volumes V and VI. Top, bottoms and edges of spines rubbed.
