About this Item
1 3/4 x 2 1/8" ticket, printed on recto only. Initialled "J.K." at verso. A late 19th century ticket to Wood's Museum at 30th and Broadway in New York City. The theatre had been built in 1867, and initially called Banvard's Museum, but in 1868 changed its name to Wood's Museum, devoted to Victorian Burlesque. In 1876 it changed ownership and was renamed The Broadway Theatre. The building was demolished in 1920. Faint manager's rubberstamp to recto, with aforementioned initials at verso. Creased and worn with a bit of the surface chipped away at lower tip, leading to partial loss of one word. About very good. Seller Inventory # 30279
