INSCRIBED on front free endpaper: "To Amy Gould Marshall who was one of the obstructive spirits of our Group-- Cora L. Williams." Inscribed page shows some edge damp staining, not infringing on inscription or signature. Otherwise book is mostly clean, Berkeley, California's largest mansion, The John Hopkins Spring Estate, commonly known as the Spring Mansion, was sold in late 1917 to the author, educator Cora L. Williams, who established what would later be named Williams College, a tony elementary and secondary school known for its focus on languages, poetry, music, and literature.
