Rajkumar Kannan works in the Department of Computer Science since June 1993. He has founded the Department of Data Science and serves as HoD since its inception in 2019. Besides he is the Dean, Deanery International Relations at Bishop Heber College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli. Previously, Rajkumar worked for King Faisal University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology where he taught ABET (USA) accredited BS and MS Computer Science as well as BS and MS Computer Information Systems Programmes. He received the BSc Computer Science and MSc Computer Science degrees in the year 1991 and 1993 from Bishop Heber College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli. He had also received his MPhil Computer Science from then Regional Engineering College, Tiruchirappalli. Rajkumar graduated his PhD degree in Computer Applications from National Institute of Technology - Tiruchirappalli, India, in the year 2007. Rajkumar visited many countries including UK, USA, Germany, Japan, Slovakia, Thailand, Austria, Malaysia, Indonesia and all Gulf countries in pursuance of teaching and research activities. His research primarily lies at the confluence of Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Multimedia and Web Retrieval, Collective and collaborative Intelligence. Rajkumar has published several high impact papers in refereed journals from IEEE, Springer, Elsevier, World Scientific, Taylor and Francis and international conferences. He serves as a referee to journals, including IEEE Trans. MM, IEEE Trans. HMS, IEEE Trans. BME, ACM Trans. MCCA, Springer MTAP and Springer JMUI. Rajkumar is also a Technical Program Committee member of several international conferences and keynote speaker to several reputed events. He is the author of a widely followed book titled, Java Programming, published by Pearson and has edited a volume for Springer Verlag (LNCS 6411) - Germany. Muneer Ahmad ’s academic journey is marked by a series of impressive accomplishments. He embarked on his educational pursuits by attaining Master's degrees in Mathematics (1999) and Computer Science (2002) from Punjab University and Islamia University, Pakistan, respectively. His quest for knowledge led him to further heights as he pursued an MPhil (MS, 2007) degree in Computer Science from COMSATS University, Pakistan. The pinnacle of his academic endeavors was reached with a Ph.D. (2015) from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia. His doctoral research centered around the intricate domain of DNA signal processing, specifically focusing on “Enhancing protein-coding regions identification in Eukaryotic DNA splicing by proposing new fuzzy logic-based methods.” Dr. Muneer Ahmad's scholarly contributions extend beyond his educational pursuits. He has authored an impressive portfolio of over 100 research articles, which are published in esteemed journals indexed in WoS and Scopus, along with various conference articles and book chapters. His intellectual curiosity has driven him to delve into a diverse array of research projects, totaling more than a dozen, carried out in Malaysia and Saudi Arabia. These endeavors have resulted in the successful acquisition of research grants amounting to approximately 500,000 MYR/SAR. As an academic mentor, Dr. Muneer's influence extends far and wide. He has overseen the guidance of more than 50 students, spanning Bachelor's, Master's, and Ph.D. levels, in the fields of Computer Science and Data Science. His commitment to fostering the next generation of scholars is evident through his supervisory role. Dr. Muneer's research interests encompass the dynamic realm of data science. His expertise lies in applied machine learning applications within diverse domains such as pattern recognition, image processing, signal analysis, e-commerce, cybersecurity, edge computing, and cloud computing. He has undertaken the exploration of machine learning, deep learning, and data-driven methodologies to propose finely-tuned solutions across various facets of computing.
