Book Description Israel Antiquities Authority, 2001. Soft cover. Condition: New. Dust Jacket Condition: New. This is the final report of the 1979 excavations at Efrata, in the Judean Hills, south of Bethlehem. The cemetery consists of some 27 burial caves of the shaft-tomb type, typical of the Intermediate Bronze Age. Many of these tombs were reused in the Middle Bronze Age. In addition to a detailed description of each cave and a comprehensive discussion of the pottery and other objects, there are specialist reports on the scarabs, the faunal remains, the human skeletal remains, and a metallurgical analysis. A tumulus and its underlying platformed structure, excavated at the summit of the hill, were found to be contemporary with the two phases represented in the cemetery. Seller Inventory # 000684
