Dutch-American architectural photographer Wijnanda Deroo (born 1955) has followed and photographed the renovation and transformation of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam since 2004. This beautiful book, designed by Irma Boom (who also designed the museum's new house style and logo) and published to mark the museum's reopening in 2013, brings together the best of these photos. Deroo has already won international fame for her meticulous photographic style and her portrayals of the interiors of offices, hotels, public buildings, restaurants and homes. Her photographs are included in the collection of The Museum of Modern Art, New York. For the Rijksmuseum, Deroo accumulated an impressive document of the new Rijksmuseum under construction over a ten-year period.

Sinds 2004 heeft Nederlands/Amerikaanse fotograaf Wijnanda Deroo de renovatie en nieuwbouw van het Rijksmuseum gevolgd en gefotografeerd. Bij de heropening van het Rijksmuseum in 2013 verschijnt dit door Irma Boom ontworpen boek, waarin de beste foto's bijeengebracht zijn.
Deroo maakte internationaal naam met haar intrigerende, zorgvuldige en van mensen verlaten foto's van interieurs van kantoren, hotels, openbare gebouwen, restaurants en huizen. Voor het Rijksmuseum bouwde zij op dezelfde wijze in een periode van bijna tien jaar een indrukwekkend tijdsdocument op van het nieuwe Rijksmuseum in wording. De foto's van het museum dat zijn heropening gestaag nadert dragen haar herkenbare stempel.
Het werk van Wijnanda Deroo (1955) bevindt zich in vooraanstaande collecties, waaronder het Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, het Centre Pompidou in Parijs en het Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. Grafisch vormgeefster Irma Boom (1960) is internationaal vermaard en veelvuldig onderscheiden voor haar werk, dat wordt verzameld door Bijzondere Collecties van de Universiteit van Amsterdam en het MoMA in New York. Voor het Rijksmuseum ontwierp zij in 2012 de nieuwe huisstijl en het nieuwe logo.
