His work ranges from fine art, male and female nudes, to advertising campaigns, magazines and graphics for films (such as Tootsie, The Big Chill, James Bond and Man in the Iron Mask). Gorman's photographs have appeared in many major international magazines, such as GQ, Vogue, Newsweek, Vanity Fair and Rolling Stone. He lives in Los Angeles, where he is also a University Lecturer and holds seminars at the Santa Fe Photographic Workshop and Mendocino Photo Workshop.

Synopsis

This volume presents Greg Gorman's portraits of movie and music legends: from Sophia Loren to Iman, from John Travolta to Leonardo di Caprio, and from Antonio Banderas to Johnny Depp. Gorman shows a marked preference for strong contrasts of light and shade, minimal sets, and black and white film. His output ranges from portraits to nudes and works of fine art, and is not limited to photography. He has also worked on advertising campaigns, the design of magazines and graphics for the movie industry.
