This book tells the history of Spain through the events that marked this period. Over 3,000 years of history are covered, from prehistory to the Spanish Golden Age and passing through the Neolithic and Copper Ages as well as the Romanization of the Iberian Peninsula. Further, it looks at the emergence of metallurgy, agricultural development, the Arab invasion, and the posterior establishment of the Umayyad Caliphate in Cordoba. The reader will also learn about the Reconquista period from a socio-economic and cultural perspective. Finally, and after taking on the Americas adventure and the Spanish Empire, this book examines the political and economic decadence of the nation and the cultural splendor of the Spanish Golden Age.
