Recently, a top United Nations official, Stephen O'Brian, says famine in four countries could soon become the worst global crisis since the Second World War. In 2019, the UN estimates more than twenty million people faced starvation famine and declared that millions are at risk in Ethiopia, Nigeria, South Sudan, Somalia, Syria and Yemen. Starvation is a silent killer. This book documents the starvation crisis of 2008 in Ethiopia and argues that it should have been prevented. The author found out children with severe malnutrition and health centers whose medical supplies have run out and where medical staff were unable to help the most desperate. The author argues that starvation famines in the 21st Century is primarily a result of entitlement failures, and are preventable. This book is relevant for humanitarian and development workers in non-governmental organizations, government agencies, and students in academic institutions. Stop hunger!
