As the top military general with command responsibility, Mladi was accused by the ICTY of being responsible for the 1992 1995 Siege of Sarajevo and the Srebrenica massacre the largest mass murder in Europe since the immediate aftermath of World War II. On 31 May 2011, Mladi was extradited to The Hague, where he was processed at the detention center that holds suspects for the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia.
