Born in Melbourne, Australia, in 1946, this New York City-based painter moves easily between figuration and abstraction in her work. Influenced by Aboriginal art, Indian theater and architecture, American Abstract Expressionism and European art history and philosophy, Green has a special affinity for the work of Joseph Beuys.

This work contains essays by Roland Monig, and Denise Green. Denise Green was born in Melbourne in 1946 and studied first in Paris and then in New York, where she has now been living and working since 1969. Oscillating between figuration and abstraction, Green's oeuvre unites the influences of a diversity of cultures. She concerns herself with not only the art of the Australian Aborigines and the theatre and architecture of the Indian subcontinent but also with European painting, history and philosophy, and American Abstract Expressionism. This book shows works from the period 1972 - 2006, thus giving a representative overview of Denise Green's work. The central exhibit is a new group of works specifically created for the Museum Kurhaus Kleve.

Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. Neu -Katalog, Kleve 2006. Dt.-engl. Ausgabe. 96 pp. Deutsch. Seller Inventory # 361429
