This photographic tribute spans 75 years of Schwarzenegger, from the future Terminator's childhood in the Austrian village of Thal, through his rise as a young athlete and his journey to America to become the most famous bodybuilder of all time, to his career as the world's leading action movie star, his move into the California governor's mansion and beyond. Arnold's muscular physique, striking features and charismatic personality made him a popular subject for photographers such as Richard Avedon, Annie Leibovitz, Robert Mapplethorpe, Herb Ritts, Francesco Scavullo and Andy Warhol. The large volume includes them all. The slightly smaller companion volume offers more intimate bodybuilding photos, film stills and making of shots, as well as dozens of photos from Arnold's personal archive. There are also exclusive interviews with Schwarzenegger and those who know him best. Arnold is limited to 1,947 copies, each copy is numbered and signed by Arnold Schwarzenegger.
