Synopsis
The authors propose a consistent approach to quality assurance in analytical chemistry. Starting with the development of methods, their strategy extends to applications in routine analytical work, touching on quality control of industrial products, environmental and food products analysis, and clinical diagnostic practice. Statistical techniques and the interpretation of statistics are explained in detail and illustrated by practical examples, chiefly from water analysis.
Worked–out problems with intermediate results, tables, and checklists insure that the reader can apply the methods properly and achieve ′good lab practice′.
The book is keyed to current codes and standards and so is a reliable guide and reference for lab managers and regulatory workers, as well as a text and workbook for all those who work in analytical labs. Its preparation was supported by the German Federal Environmental Agency in Berlin.
