This is a revisionary development of Meinongian logic and semantics, based on selected principles of Meinong's mature object theory. Meinongian logic provides a formal interpretation of intentional languages in which reference and true predication of constitutive properties to both existent and nonexistent objects is possible. Meinongian systems are required to make intuitively correct sense of definite description and the ontological commitments of theories containing extensionless predicates or non (-existent object) - designating singular terms. There is a need to re-examine the underlying tenets of Meinong's philosophy, and to reconstruct object theory as a satisfactory alternative to extensional logics. A number of historically difficult philosophical problems can be avoided or solved by Meinongian logic, which in many ways is unobjectionable as a more precise formulation of commonsense ideas about reference, predication and propositional attitude. The present work offers in Part One an introductory treatment of Meinong's object theory, together with a critical evaluation of alternative approaches to the formalization of Meinongian logica nd semantics.
