About the Author
Poète, romancier, ethnologue, journaliste mais aussi diplomate et fondateur du Parti communiste haïtien, Jacques Roumain (1907-1944) est une grande figure littéraire et politique de son pays. Tant Gouverneurs de la rosée (publié en 1944 en Haïti et dès 1946 en France) que son engagement passionné pour la liberté et la dignité de son peuple, ont marqué toute une génération d’écrivains haïtiens.
