Synopsis
Anne vit à Bruges au temps de la Renaissance, Hanna dans la Vienne impériale de Sigmund Freud, Anny à Hollywood de nos jours. Toutes trois se sentent différentes de leurs contemporaines ; refusant le rôle que leur imposent les hommes, elles cherchent à se rendre maîtresses de leur destin. Trois époques. Trois femmes. Et si c'était la même ? Autour de ces femmes, une nuée de furies. Les belles âmes, les fourbes, les traîtres, les prudents. Bref, le ballet de ceux qui vous tendent le miroir mais refusent de s'y regarder. Qu'y trouveraient-ils ? Quelqu'un d'autre. Anne, Hanna et Anny, chacune à sa manière tentent de se réconcilier avec la réalité. Elles en paieront le prix. Et trouveront, de façon surprenante, l'unité vers laquelle elles rêvent de tendre depuis qu'elles ont compris que la vie ne suffit pas.

About the Author
Né en 1960, normalien et docteur en philosophie, Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt s'est d'abord fait connaître au théâtre avec Le Visiteur, devenu un classique du répertoire international. Rapidement, d'autres succès ont suivi. Plébiscitées tant par le public que par la critique, ses pièces ont été récompensées par plusieurs Molière et le Grand Prix du théâtre de l'Académie française. Son oeuvre est traduite dans quarante-trois langues et désormais jouée dans plus de cinquante pays. Sa carrière de romancier, initiée par La Secte des Égoïstes, s'est, entre autres, poursuivie avec L'Évangile selon Pilate, La Part de l'autre, Lorsque j'étais une oeuvre d'art, Ulysse from Bagdad, La Femme au miroir. Son Cycle de l'Invisible (Milarepa, Monsieur Ibrahim et les fleurs du Coran, Oscar et la dame rose, L'Enfant de Noé, Le sumo qui ne pouvait pas grossir, Les dix enfants que madame Ming n'a jamais eus) a remporté un immense succès en France et à l'étranger. En 2006, il écrit et réalise son premier film, Odette Toulemonde, suivi, en 2009, de sa propre adaptation d'Oscar et la dame rose. Mélomane, Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt est aussi l'auteur de Ma vie avec Mozart et Quand je pense que Beethoven est mort alors que tant de crétins vivent.
