One in 4 children have experienced a traumatic situation. Some of those children recover, and others need support and understanding to find their way back to happiness and success. As educators, we are in a unique position to be a positive influence in these children's lives and ultimately make a difference in their recovery or we can turn our backs on their problems. This book provides a glimpse into my students' lives that I've shared in hopes of illustrating what students of trauma may look like in your classroom, and provided some insight into how I have made inroads into developing relationships and rapport that made a difference in their lives, at least while they were in my classroom.
