About the Author:

Daniela Gioseffi, an American Book Award winning author of 16 books, presented her poetry for NPR and the BBC and appeared twice on the radio show of The Library of Congress, N.E.A. Her verse is etched on a wall of PENN Station NY with that of Walt Whitman. She's won the John Ciardi Award for Lifetime Achievement in Poetry, and the OSIA NY State Literary Award. She founded the National Bordighera Poetry Prize, edits Eco-Poetry.org, PoetsUSA.com and ItalianAmericanWriters.com/ and was a pioneer of The Poets-in-the-Schools program, winning a Partner in Education Award from NYC Dept. of Ed. She created the First Brooklyn Bridge Poetry Walk in 1971 with a grant from The NY State Council for the Arts. Daniela has published three novels, the latest a biographical one on the life of Emily Dickinson with a non-ficton forward upon which the novel is based, titled The Story of Emily Dickinson's Master; Wild Nights! Wild Night!. She is with the Dickinson's Scholars Registry and has taught at colleges and universities all around the NY City area where she has lived for 45 years. She has presented her work at all branches of SUNY and campuses around the country. Her first book of poetry in 1977, Eggs in the Lake was followed by five others, including Blood Autumn: New & Selected Poems, in 2007. Women On War: International Writings and On Prejudice: A Global Perspective are two major books. Daniela is widely published in literary periodicals such as The Paris Review, The Nation, Prairie Schooner, Poetry East & in major press anthologies such as Kaleidoscope: Stories of the American Experience (Oxford U.
