People have been racing Corvettes since about 1955, but until 1998 all of the cars and teams had been privateers. In 1999 Corvette Racing changed all that by becoming the General Motors factory backed professional race team. In this colourful and lavishly illustrated book, Nigel Dobbie tells the story of all C5R and C6R Corvettes produced by Pratt & Miller engineering, as raced initially by Corvette Racing and subsequently by privateer teams. The book covers in depth all races the cars undertook during the years 1999 to 2009, and includes detailed race histories by chassis of every C5R and C6R Corvette built.

Review:
I don't often buy books - BUT this was a must as a concise history of Corvette Racing @ LeMans since I have been visiting this great race in support of the Corvette Racing Team.

It's superbly detailed and illustrated with tremendous photography from the author and others. Thoroughly recommend this to Corvette and LeMans fans alike. --Timon, reader

Mr. Dobbie Has done a comprehensive race by race book on The C5-R AND C6.R. The ONLY and the BEST book out there on The C5-R And C6.R. I only hope there is a follow up perhaps "The GT2 Years"?

I have waited for years for a book covering the Corvette Racing Program to no avail and finally this great book has come along, I highly recommend it to Corvette Fans and Racing Fans alike. --Jose Lopez

About the Author:
Nigel Dobbie is a Business Intelligence Consultant based in the UK. He was born in September 1962 in Somerset, England (his father was a Royal Navy fighter pilot based at RNAS Yeovilton). From a young age Nigel's father would purchase him small Dinky and Corgi car models and one of these was a C2 Corvette Coupe. Seemingly endless house moves are part and parcel of the life of a military family and during one of these moves the beloved Corvette was lost and this led to Nigel's lifelong obsession with the brand. Nigel Dobbie has been writing articles about Corvette Racing since he first went to Le Mans in 2000 and felt that now was the time to write the complete history of the GT1 Corvettes.
