This book continues Colourpoint's popular 'Buses in Ulster' series. Volume 6 recounts the years from 1988 to 2003, a period of great change which saw the introduction of the Goldline brand and the hugely successful Maiden City Flyer between Belfast and Londonderry, easy access low floor buses running in many towns across the Province and the return of the double-decker to the streets of Belfast. The book is illustrated in colour and has full fleet lists.

Irvine Millar, a native of Edinburgh, has a wealth of experience in public transport and buses, both from a professional and 'enthusiast' perspective. Moving from London Transport, in 1967 he joined Ulsterbus, with whom he was to be employed until his retirement in 2001, serving successively as PA to the Managing Director, Projects Manager and Inspector General. Irvine's work, however, has also been his hobby, and to his credit can be listed numerous articles for Buses Illustrated, Bus & Coach and Buses, as well as the commemorative publication 50 Years of Public Transport. He was also the author of Volume 4 in this series, Ulsterbus 1967 - 1988, The Heubeck Years. Irvine also co-compiles the Fleet News Ireland column for Buses magazine. He is married, with two grown-up children, and lives in Belfast.
