Review

Reading Explorers by Hopscotch are a super time saving series of books aimed at providing quality reading resources within the primary school classroom. We have read 2,3 and 4 tough the series is also available for years 5 and 6, following the same format. Each books comes complete with text and lesson plan. The text is for children of average ability within the year group based on national average. The lesson is split into three sections: Warm up questions, main questions and evaluative questions along with suggested timings for each part of the session. Lesson plans also include key skills or question types and essential vocabulary. Included in each book is a helpful five staged helping hand approach to each session along with suggested resources. The CD provides differentiated texts for higher and lower ability within your classroom. We at Top Class Primary loved these resources and can see how it would cut down on planning time for guided reading sessions. --Top Class Primary magazine
