About the Author

James Riordan has written over twenty-five books for children. His recent titles include Songs My Paddle Sing, Folk Tales from Korea, Folk Tales of the British Isles, and Gulliver?s Travels. Professor of Russian Studies at the University of Surrey, he lives in Portsmouth, England. The Barefoot Book of Stories from the Sea is James Riordan's first Barefoot Book. Amanda Hall lives and works in Cambridge. She has illustrated many children's books and her work has been published in many languages. Amanda is an enthusiastic traveler and has spent time in Africa, India and North America as well as Europe.
