Synopsis

The Presidential Election process comes to Iowa with full force every four years. Every serious (and unserious) candidate from all parties march, meet, speak, and try to shake the hands of all Iowans. Phones begin to ring and ring, the mail is flooded with promises of one kind or another, newspapers are squeezed full of advertisements, radios and tvs buzz with all the answers to all our problems, but what if. . .the story was more to the states actual liking and not what is imposed upon the voters? Well, not since the novel Primary Colors has the Middle American landscape yielded up such rich political fodder. Part political satire, part earnest call for electoral reform, and one unforgettable campaign tale, Corn Poll: A Novel of the Iowa Caucuses is a novel for political junkies and political cynics alikefor anyone who ever held their nose and cast a vote and everyone who ever dreamed We the People might one day stand up and demand the candidates we deserve.
