About the Author:
The Editor: Douglas Oliff is internationally accepted as an expert on Mastiffs of all types. He has carried out considerable research into the origins of many of these breeds, and has an expert knowledge of their temperament. Although specialising in Bullmastiffs, and in Mastiffs to a lesser extent, he was among the first to own a Neapolitan Mastiff in the UK — a breed which he still owns and greatly admires. He is the senior judge of Bullmastiffs in Britain, having awarded Challenge Certificates since 1962. He has judged Bullmastiffs and Mastiffs at Crufts, and was elected to officiate as judge at the American Bullmastiff Association Golden Jubilee Show in 1983, which brought a world entry for that time. Douglas has judged Mastiffs at the World Show, and has judged Mastiffs and Bullmastiffs at specialist club events in Europe and Scandinavia. He writes extensively on canine matters, and is author of a book on the Mastiff and Bullmastiff. Synopsis:
