From the Author:
A must for every Evertonian - Howard Kendall
Talking Blue By Becky Tallentire

Exactly how close was Howard Kendall to signing for Shankly? Did Graeme Sharp’s constant whinging at the referees ever get them to change their mind about one single decision? How much did Alex Young earn when he first arrived at Goodison Park? And what went through Kevin Sheedy’s mind when he flicked the V sign to the Kop?

But more importantly, does Andy Gray really sound like Marge Simpson when he sings, can Duncan Mc Kenzie still jump over a Mini and does Paul Bracewell ever wish he’d been chosen for a shampoo commercial?

All those nagging questions that have bothered you for years are answered in the most candid and forthright collection of interviews ever given by the royal blue heroes of past and present.

Talking Blue cuts straight to the chase with questions submitted on a ‘no holds barred’ basis by disenfranchised Evertonians, via the miracle of the World Wide Web and asked by the only woman with the temerity to do so, Becky Tallentire. Becky Tallentire is based in Southport in the North West of England. Her passion for Everton Football Club led to the One 2 One series of interviews with great names from the club’s glorious past and her unique journalistic style is illustrated in this showcase of her most recent work.

Emigration to South Africa at 18 initiated an enduring love of travel and she spent the next 14 years attempting to satisfy her wanderlust, courtesy of the Casino business and the worlds finest cruise liners. This unorthodox career path, combined with her qualities of wit and irreverence, has resulted in her highly original and inimitable style.

A natural born writer, Becky cut her journalistic teeth with the launch of Liverpool L!VE TV where she scripted and produced the nightly Sports Show, ‘Red White and Blue’. Meanwhile, amongst the Press she was quickly developing a reputation for asking the questions which nobody else would dare.

The shock closure of the regional L!VE TV bureau left 21 creative people unemployed with 10 minutes notice. Determined to keep her finger on the pulse Becky invested her redundancy money in a computer; it was only then she discovered another dimension of communication, via the online football mailing lists and the World Wide Web.

At ease with the famous people and public alike, her approach opens doors that would normally remain, firmly bolted.
