Fredrick William Holiday, also known as "Ted Holiday" (1920-1979) was a British journalist, angler, cryptozoologist, and wildlife specialist. Published seven years after his premature death and following "The Great Orm of Loch Ness: A Practical Inquiry into the Nature and Habits of Water-Monsters" in 1969, and "The Dragon and the Disc: An Investigation into the Totally Fantastic" in 1973. Holiday claims to have seen the Loch Ness monster, "Nessie", on four occasions in the company of other witnesses. This is, in a sense, the third in a trilogy examining unexplained creatures and pheonomenon. The first title began w/a physical theory, the second a dimensional aspect, and finally the mysterious, often inexplicable nature of these events. "The Goblin Universe" features an introduction by Colin Wilson, who after reading his friend Holiday's book - which was not complete in Holiday's opinion - found it worthy of publishing. It is a look into the many enigmas found in the universe and the association between cryptids and the paranormal, with unique insight. Comparable to Jacque Vallee's "Passport to Magonia" in regards. Contents include: An Introduction by Colin Wilson; Preface; Three Personal Cases; Do They Come Back?; What Were You Doing Next Month?; Elohim - The Trooping Fairies; The Mystery Big Cats; The Phantom Menagerie; The Exorcism of Loch Ness; The Science of Wishful Thinking; The Hall of Mirrors; Appendix A: Scientific Controversy Regarding Monsters; Appendix B: The Loch Ness Exorcism; and, a Bibliography. Printed and bound in Great Britain by Biddles Limited, Guildford, Surrey. 248 pages including bibliography. Insured post. Size: 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" Tall. Seller Inventory # 020575
