If you love animals - horses, ponies, cats, dogs, rabbits - this is the book for you. Here are poems about gymkhanas and horse racing; hacking and mucking out; foals and kittens, the joys of riding in the countryside or beside the sea and also about the pure pleasure of just being with a pony - grooming him, talking to him, having fun! Whether you haveyour own pony or go to a riding school or just like to read about ponies or other animals then these lovely poems, written by someone who really knows all about the ups and downs of riding, are for you. The book is in full colour throughout and the illustrations, specially commissioned for the book, are by Jacqui Jones, the well known equestrian artist.

This beautifully produced book is aimed at children - those who ride ponies, read pony stories and whose lives are involved with animals. Sharron Murgatroyd writes about all the highs and lows of the horse world, from gymkhanas to life in a racing yard. I do not agree with fhe foreword by the Pony Club in which it says that perhaps the 'mums and dads will sneak a read'. It is the parents who will have bought the book and it is the children who will have to wrestle it away from them --Eastern Daily Press
Although written for children between 10 and 15 I am certain that this touching book will strike a cord with much older readers - as it did with me. Reading Sharron's poignant poems, some quite sad but all posessing the boundless energy, joy, optimism and feelings of youth so accuratley put into words, brought back many long-forgotten memories of my own pony-mad childhood. Jacqui Jones' beautiful illustrations complement the poems suberbly. Reading Pony Days was a moving and rare pleasure - a privilege. A book to treasure. --Judith King - 'Riding' magazine
Sharron Murgatroyd was a top lady jump jockey until a terrible fall left her confimed to a wheelchair. Since then she has rebuilt her life and is now a successful author.
