Review:

'The C2 Corvette Stingray is one of the most iconic and desirable sports cars of all time. Sought after the world over, it is potentially very valuable and demand exceeds supply. However despite their prestige and that many stingrays will have been maintained in immaculate condition or will have undergone extensive restoration over the years, it would be foolish to think that they are all in superb, drivable condition. They youngest are now 45 years old, and they are susceptible to rust, rot, misuse accident damage and neglect, with accidental problems relating to their GRP bodies. Furthermore, given the nature of the beast, they have probably been abused considerably more than their saloon car contemporaries. So if you are seriously considering in a mid sixties Stingray you'll benefit from some advise. Who better to accompany you when scrutinizing potential purchases than Corvette expert Tom Falconer? His book will be of invaluable assistance. Its comprehensive but small enough to fit into a jacket pocket. Will you be happy owning a corvette Stingray? How much could it cost to buy, run and maintain? What should you do before viewing a possible purchase? When inspecting a Corvette what should you take with you and what should you do first. From an initial 15 minute evaluation to a more extensive hour long investigation. Tom explains what you look for and when to walk away. Should you consider an auction? How can you tell the paper work is as it should be? Should you buy a cheaper example with a view to restoring it yourself? What are the potential costs and pitfalls, particularly with a glass fibre body? All is explained in an easy to read and absorbing guide. If you want to actually experience Corvette ownership, this really is the essential Stingray buyers guide. Highly recommended.' --Classic American
