Mention the word wedding to any florist, caterer or photographer and you'll see their eyes light up. Weddings are a very profitable business for everyone...apart from the bride and groom!

However it is possible to save money when organising your wedding, you just need to know how before you sign those contracts and order your flowers.

When I got married in 2008 I learned the hard way. I realised once my beautiful invites had arrived that I could have made them myself had I been more organised, or had I known how to, I could have saved more money by making my own boquets. I did pick up some great advice along the way and saved some money, like getting married on a Friday instead of a Saturday, but I wish I knew all the cost cutting secrets I know now!

I realised every married woman has tips for fellow brides, you just don't have time to ask everyone for them whilst in the mist of your wedding day organising, so I decided to write a book and share all the great advice and first-hand experience.

My book called 'The DIY Wedding Manual' is a fantastic book which no bride-to-be should be without. It's packed with tips and suggestions of how to save money for your big day, including recipes, homemade beauty products, music suggestions and much more.
