In this brilliantly informative new title, compiled by expert Chris Mattison, readers will find instant, impartial advice about over 150 varieties of reptile and amphibian, including salamanders and newts, frogs and toads, tortoises and turtles, lizards, and snakes. Each entry includes a profile detailing the origin in temperament of the animal, plus question-and answer advice on how much time the owner will have to devote to it, what special equipment or housing set-up will be needed, what its care needs are, what it eats, how easily it will breed and an assessment of any possible drawbacks to round off the balance sheet. The book is lavishly illustrated with more than 340 colour pictures, most of them photographed in fascinating close-up detail in studio conditions, this invaluable 'buyer's guide' provides prospective new reptile keepers with easy-to-digest essential information on how to care for a wide range of exotic reptiles and amphibians. Every entry includes a price guide revealing what you can expect to pay for each animal, and the related set-up and running costs.
