I loved this book. It covers six subjects for the Year 4 science curriculum with assessment ideas and self-assessment sheets. Conceived by teachers who have put the ideas into practice, this is an extremely useful resource. Each unit gives a starting point for each topic followed by how to encourage children to enquire about the subject and extension activities. Following these starting science activities the book goes on to show ideas for literacy, numeracy and other curriculum subjects. At the start of each unit there is a planning grid which provides references to the National Curriculum and to the new Literacy and Numeracy frameworks. As these ideas have all been tried and tested by teachers there are also wonderful ideas for displays. There are also photocopiable activities linked to the main science unit theme. A thoroughly useful resource that I used as a great starting point to plan a science unit recently. It gave me ideas and helped with a cross curricular creative approach that our school embraces. --TES Review Bank - nickywinAbout the Author:
