"A Sense of Belonging to Scotland: Futher Journeys" is the culmination of a highly personal project for photographer Andy Hall. In 2002, Andy set himself the task of photographing the favourite places of some of Scotland's best-loved personalities, asking each of them to describe in their own words why their chosen corner of the country is so special. The result was a collection of breathtaking photography and evocative, personal writing. "Further Journeys" continues the theme of the first volume in the company of an array of notable people from many different walks of life. When seen as a complete collection, "A Sense of Belonging to Scotland" offers a unique insight into the character of Scotland's wonderful landscape and the acheivements of its people. As Andy himself explains: 'My own motivation has been my love of Scotland, its people, its landscape and its light.'

Andy Hall was born in Perth in 1954 and lives in Stonehaven in the north east of Scotland with his wife and two children.
Graduating from Aberdeen University with a Bachelor of Education degree in 1977, his study of Scottish literature, particularly that of Lewis Grassic Gibbon, had a powerful influence on him and shaped his affinity for the Kincardshire landscape, encouraging him to convey its essential elements through the medium of photography. This has evolved to become a love of Scotland in all its varied and diverse forms.
