Synopsis

You've all read A Year in Provence, right? This is not like that at all, except maybe a bit. A lot of it is set in France but it's less patronising and even funnier. "Well he would say that", I hear you cry! "Yes", you hear me cry back, "of course I would, because it's true". "Well he would say that wouldn't he"? I hear you cry............................... Look, this is getting us nowhere. Just trust me, it's funnier. "Well...................................SHUT UP! If you're going to be so picky about it I'd actually prefer you didn't buy the book. You're the sort of person who analyses everything in minute detail, demanding unerring accuracy in everything, leaving no room for the imagination to soar. So bugger off, I don't want you. Now then; to those of you left, let's start again. It's a book about us planning and executing a move to France but we're not well off middle class toffs, like the rest of them. We are skint middle class, with working class tendencies. It's a meander through a couple of years of our lives and the fun we had with the French Banking system, Health System, meeting and dealing with people in a small village etc etc. I KNOW it sounds like a bloody year in Provence but it's better; got it? Let's try another tack, it includes dogs. Gotcha! Not a dog to be seen in a Year in Provence right? We've got three! The subtitle was suggested by a friend after I was diagnosed bipolar halfway through writing it and went through a very weird period; I feel it fits the bill nicely. There's a helpful little gismo to the right of the box I'm writing in which says I have 2391 characters left. 2369. 2363. I really don't think I need them, you'll either fancy it or not by now, I'm sure. 2275. So all I have left to say is that I'm the sole breadwinner and supporter of a huge family, masses of animals and have a particular love of red wine. 2122.
