Synopsis
St. Augustine, Florida, is the oldest continuously occupied settlement of European origin in the United States, founded in 1565. Through the use of watercolor and black and white drawings and evocative, informative text, St. Augustine: A Sketchbook takes the reader on a journey through the historical neighborhoods with stops at landmarks and other points of interest. The book is an artistic celebration of the city's famous Spanish-style architecture as well as the Mediterranean Revival and British Colonial. Beyond the famous architecture, the artist captures the personalities and wildlife of St. Augustine through her delicate work and loving eye.

About the Author
A Florida resident since1961, Rosamond Parrish earned degrees in English Literature and Spanish from Auburn University. She studied watercolor with legendary instructor Edgar Whitney and taught painting at the Jacksonville Art Museum (now MOCA-Jax)and other locations for over 25 years. In 1972, she earned Signature Life membership in the Florida Watercolor Society and is the Founder of the Jacksonville Watercolor Society. She served as a Board member of the St. Augustine Art Association and the Florida Watercolor Society. She received the coveted ROWITA (Recognizing Outstanding Women in the Arts) award for her many contributions to the cultural arts of St. Johns County. She has written about travel and arts for several state publications. Rosamond wrote and illustrated Lincolnville, A Sketchbook Journal of St. Augustine's Historic Neighborhood, now in its second Revised edition. A featured author at the Florida Heritage Book Festival in 2014, she lectures frequently about Lincolnville’s history to civic, historic, university and arts groups. Her home and studio are in beautiful St. Augustine, where she sketches daily.
