Synopsis

Not only is Conan's love affair with Yasmela going south, but rebel Prince Julion immediately challenges Conan's headstrong impulses and military plans, causing a rift between the battered-but-proud forces of Khoraja and Amalric's army of colorful mercs. The "Free Companions" and "Kozaki" story arcs are collected here, illustrated by series writer Tim Truman and regular series artist Tomas Giorello, with colors by Jose Villarrubia. In a special multigenerational piece titled "Home for the Hunt," Benjamin Truman co-scripts with his father, while sequential art duties are deftly handled by Joe Kubert and Tim Truman. These original tales explore events alluded to in Robert E. Howard's Conan lore and expand upon existing stories, as a youthful Conan tries to keep his barbarous nature and hot temper in check in order to prove that he can be a leader of men.

About the Author

Timothy Truman is an American writer, artist, and musician. He is best known for his stories and Wild West–style comic book art, and, in particular, for his work on Grimjack, Scout, and the reinvention of Jonah Hex with Joe R. Lansdale.

Truman was born in 1956 in Gauley Bridge, West Virginia. After graduating from Gauley Bridge High School in 1974, he attended the Columbus College of Art and Design while also attending West Virginia University. From 1979 to 1981 he attended the Kubert School in New Jersey and graduated on the dean's list.

He currently lives in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and is an instructor at the Pennsylvania College of Art and Design.

Tomas Giorello is a writer, artist, penciller, and cover artist known for his work on Conan the Barbarian titles.
