Synopsis
Illustrated by Christy Hale. It is the first day of school and Elizabeti can hardly wait, sure that school is a very special place. Shortly after arriving at school, Elizabeti begins to miss her family, but she is soon making friends and learning her lessons. About the Author
STEPHANIE STUVE-BODEEN lived in Tanzania, Africa, as a Peace Corps volunteer in the 1980s, and it was there that she met the young girl who was the inspiration for the three books in the Elizabeti series. Stuve-Bodeen is also the author of several other published and forthcoming children's books. She and her family live in La Center, Washington. CHRISTY HALE has illustrated many books for children, including the Elizabeti series. She also works for several publishers as an art director and designer of books for young readers. Hale lives in Palo Alto, California, with her husband and their daughter.
