Because we didn’t want quilters to suffer those nasty "URL Not Found" messages that one gets with less-than-up-to-date computer books, we checked and rechecked every Internet address in the book literally the night before the book went to the printer. That’s something no computer book publisher in the world would have permitted us to do.
We continue to work with C&T to update the book, to keep our list of recommended Web sites fresh. C&T is committed to that, and so are we.
We’ve also included tutorials on how to do things that quilters often ask us how to do: like configure one’s browser to participate in newsgroup craft discussions or troubleshoot Web connections.
No, this ain’t a 500-page computer book (The Quilter’s Computer Companion in contrast is). We created this book to be a no-nonsense, plain English resource that quilters can turn to again and again to get quality information off the Web quickly--and painlessly. There’s little in this book that resembles material in our previous book, The Quilter’s Computer Companion (although we worked just as hard on that book). The Internet has changed immeasurably since that book was published, and we wanted to give quilters a more vital--and enduring resource to all the great things the Net offers us. We also wanted to give quilters a computer resource that is just plain fun.
